- 2002 – 25 animals
- 2003 – 22 animals
- 2004 – 10 animals
- 2005 – 13 animals
- 2006 – 24 animals
- 2007 – 13 animals
- 2008 – 83 animals
- 2009 – 122 animals
- 2010 – 333 animals
- 2011 – 448 animals
- 2012 – 628 animals
88 rhinos have already been killed since Jan 2013, at this rate we are looking at close to 1110 dead rhinos for 2013. With estimated remaining population of wild rhinos in South Africa ranging between 12,000-15,000 and the accelerated rate of poaching, due to use of technology and increasing demand, these gentle giants will be extinct within the next 10 years…
