It seems breeding season is now in full swing in the volcanoes with new babies from the Hirwa, Kwitonda and Agashya groups! All the new arrivals are less than 2 weeks old. The latest news has it that we have now jumped from 17 to 19 families in Rwanda’s Volcanos National Park. A new family came over from the Congo and one of the Silverbacks from a local family, went solo and shortly after went to Inshuti family and acquired himself to ladies! It’s a regular soap opera here in the land of volcanos, mist and oversized apes! Very sadly, one of the youngsters in Agashy was fatally injured in a skirmish with the Hirwa family about a month ago.
