Video of the Day: Olympic Swimmer Amanda Beard Saves Sharks

From a recent WildAid report:

“Recent news reports in China and Hong Kong have circulated footage of an underground shark fin processing factory that uses industrial grade hydrogen peroxide and ammonia to bleach fins.”

The report features footage of one of these factories, where the following discussion with a factory worker can be heard:

Reporter: Aren’t these shark fins poisonous?
Worker: There’s no other way. It’s for the riches anyway.
It’s none of our business.
The riches most likely take drugs anyway. There’s no other way.
Reporter: Does your boss know these are poisoned?
Worker: Everybody knows.
